Job Description

Technical Director @Annenberg Media When people picture a newsroom, they often envision anchors, reporters, and perhaps the cameraman. However, just like any other part of a whole, a newscast requires the collaboration of various experts to create a complete show. One of the many crucial roles in the newsroom is the Technical Director, who oversees the control room and acts as the liaison between the technical staff and the production crew. The Technical Director undertakes a range of duties. It starts off with familiarizing yourself with the ins and outs of the newsroom, including the different media personnel and their roles, the structure of a newscast, and the different jargons used upon production. With these tasks in mind, the Technical Director ultimately ensures that all technical components of the newscast is flawless and ready for on-air broadcasting, to avoid any bloopers. 1. Describe where you come from My name is Sarah Park and I'm originally from Seoul, South Korea. Growing up, I moved back and forth from Korea to the U.S., having lived in San Francisco, Connecticut, and Los Angeles. I would say this upbringing of mine has greatly impacted my identity today, especially in terms of empathy and acceptance. 2. Tell me where you're going I am not sure where I will be moving to after graduation, but I hope to settle down in the U.S. (preferably the west coast) to work and spend my 20s here. Afterward, I would ideally be finding a career that would allow me to travel around or go back and forth from home to America.  3.
